Sing !!!

I  love the movie Sing. It is about a koala trying to keep open a theater filled with Music and singing! His father ran the theater for a long time and then passed it down to him. He then has an idea on how to keep the theater running, I don't want to give too much of the movie away, it is a good movie with a moving message and good storyline.

The characters come from different background and each character has a different storyline. The elephant is personally my favorite character in the movie, because she loves her family and she loves to sing. She is also outgoing and a little shy because she does love singing, she is afraid to project her voice and let other people hear how beautiful she can sing. When she finds out about the auditions, her family tells her to go for it and to let other people hear how beautiful she can sing. She at first is to nervous to sing because everyone is watching her, and she doesn't want to mess up her chance of being in the show.

She ends up being too nervous, and the koala the leader of the talent show decides to keep her on as his helping hand, and to help him prepare for the show, like to do all the lights and make sure everything is in place. Then one day, he comes upon some beautiful singing, and he goes to look to see where it is coming from, and he finds the elephant who is his stage hand singing, he finds out how beautiful her voice is and says I am going to put you in the show!

He tells her you have a beautiful singing voice, do not be afraid to let other people hear it, and do not be afraid to shine. She wasn't afraid to sing because she felt comfortable in the place where she was singing, and no one was watching her. Later at the show, She again gets nervous, and the koala encourages her and says you can do it. So she brings the microphone to her mouth and begins to sing, Don't worry about a thing, she at first starts out singing softly, then once she sees the crowd getting into it, she starts singing louder and eventually blows the roof off the ceiling because everyone loved her singing, and she was really happy and excited that she was able to sing, and show everyone how much fun music and singing is.

I chose this movie to write about today because I love music and singing, Singing makes me feel so happy and good inside. I have sung in chorus for 4 years. And in my senior year of high school, we had a singing event called Evening in Paris, where we make the cafeteria look like Paris and have little desserts for the audience to enjoy, while we sang different songs to entertain them. It was my first time doing evening in Paris, I had an awesome chorus teacher Mr.Vensel, he helped me prepare and rehearse my song for that evening. He is an amazing teacher and he has really taught me a lot, I am happy and blessed to know him.

I also love singing from Anthony Evans, he is my favorite singer, he sings with so much passion and excitement in his voice. When he is singing, you can feel the presence of God in the room, he is an outstanding singer. He sings with everything he has in him. He sings with all his heart and spirit. All of his albums are amazing. He has the joy of the lord inside him. He is so kind, caring, loving and joyful. He really has a happy smile too, when you see him smile. Then you smile because you see how much joy he has from God. He really inspires me and my singing.

Tori Kelly is an amazing singer too, she sings with a lot of joy and happiness, and passion. She puts everything into her singing, you can really feel what she is singing when she is singing because of how she portrays her music and singing. She always has a happy smile on her face too, like Anthony, there smiles can light up the whole room. Tori has a lot of awesome songs, one of my favorite songs from Tori Kelly is never alone. Kirk Franklin is also featured on the song, he is also one of my favorite gospel singers, I love his music too, never alone is very uplifting, and so heartfelt. Tori sings with all her heart on this song, you can really feel inside. They are all outstanding singers, and if you do not have any their albums already, you should purchase one you will love it. There amazing people.

It is one of my favorite movies, because every character has a different way of expressing themselves and confident to show the world they can do.

I love all of their storylines and how brave they are to show people what they can do. And because I love the singing throughout the movie. I enjoy the singing and the characters in the movie. My favorite parr of the movie is when Tori Kelly's character Meena sings, and wows the crowd, like how I wowed everyone at my event.

I would recommend this movie to anyone who likes songs, and lots of singing! It is very heartfelt and warming, you and your family will love it.

Alvin and the Chipmunks

Hey everyone, the holidays are coming up soon and my favorite holiday is christmas, I especially love Alvin and the chipmunks. It is a lovely and heart-felt warm movie, it is fun to watch with your family, It is filled with a lot of laughter and joy. Alvin is the middle chipmunk, he gets in the most trouble, he has a good heart though, and very funny and the life of the party,

Simon is the oldest, he is the brainiac of all of them and he likes to follow the rules and make sure his brothers are doing the right thing. He looks over Alvin a lot too, because he knows Alvin doesn't always like to follow the rules.

Theodore is the youngest he is really cute and lovable,  he is very caring and likes spending time with his brothers and singing.

The movie starts out with a man and his name is Dave, he likes to write music and play the piano. He writes songs for his company, and his boss doesn't like his song so he gets fired because of the song he wrote and sang so then when he gets home he throws out all of his instruments and other musical stuff because he thinks he is not a musician anymore, then the scene cuts to a forest with three little cute chipmunks living in it, and they start singing a song together, and then they hear a noise and it is someone cutting down the tree which is their home . They decided to leave the forest and they end up in a music building and then they see a basket of goodies and they jump in the basket, the person who is holding the basket is dave.

I chose this movie to write about today because I love christmas and singing. It has always been of my favorite holidays, and the chipmunks always bring a smile to my face. I have all of the movies too and they sing awesome songs.

I enjoy the singing in the movie and how much they all love each other, and how much dave supports them through there singing. He loves them with all his heart. If you haven't seen the third movie check that one out, it is an amazing one.

My favorite character in the movie is Alvin because even though he is the one that gets in trouble the most, he has good intentions. And he is funny and the life of the party, and likes to make sure everyone is always having fun and a good time.

My favorite song from the movie is christmas don't be late, because they are singing about what they want for christmas, and how excited they are and they don't want christmas to be late.

I would recommend this movie to anyone who likes to laugh and sing. It is a wonderful movie to make you smile and feel good inside.

My College Experience

Hello everyone today I am writing about my experience in college. My first college experience was at Millersville University. I had a wonderful time there; I had a lot of awesome teachers and made a lot of friends while attending there for 2 years. The feeling of going from high to college felt exciting and scary at the same time because I was going to be away from home and living on campus. I was excited because I was becoming independent and learning how to be a young adult. I got comfortable in my first year of college by talking with my parents, friends and family about it and what classes I am going to take while I am there and what major I am going to be taking.  I think what was scary for me was being away first from my dog because I am used to having him with me and he is my emotional support animal that I have had since 2010. He is one of my best friends and my mom calls him my Ace boon coon!  And I was also a little scared of being away from away from my family, because I haven't been away from my family for a long period of time before. I was also confident and brave I knew that I could go to college and be great because I knew I had my family and friends support behind me and that made me feel good. I was able to get comfortable quickly because I visited the campus before I attended there, And I was one of the first ones to live in the new residence halls. When I moved in, I was so excited to have my own room and be independent. My room was very nice and colorful.

It was fun living on campus and not at home because I was able to be independent and go wherever I wanted on campus. And I went to different events to with my friends. I made friends pretty fast, I met some friends on campus and at different organizations and clubs. My mentors that I had were my friends too. we hanged out and did homework together and went on different outings. I overcame Challenges while I was at Millersville too. I had a terrific experience there and I learned a lot for when I was going to go on my next journey to college.

My next college experience was when I took a year off before I attended college, I signed up for UNCG when I graduated from Millersville; I was planning to attend there for college. I had visited the campus and met everyone who worked in the college, and I had to go orientation and all the meetings. My plan was to live with my aunt while I attended UNCG. When we came back home from Greensboro North Carolina, we found out my dad had been assigned to a country to go live for a year, he had work to do there. I was thinking to myself I don't want my mom and dog to be alone while my dad is away for a while so me and my mom talked about it, she said you can take a year off to stay with me while your dad is away, and then go to UNCG when he returns. So while my plan was to go to UNCG that plan ended up changing because my Aunt had gotten unexpectedly sick, and ended up passing away, so I decided not to go to uncg because I wouldn't have anywhere to live while I attended there. My mom and I  made a plan, we decided to visit my dad where he was assigned and then sign apply somewhere for college. We had a wonderful trip, we visited many beautiful countries and cities. My favorite one we visited was Paris Disneyland. My dad planned that as a surprise for me. It was so wonderful and I will never forget it. I loved seeing all the Disney characters especially Mickey and Minnie. Mickey is my favorite personally.

When my Mom and I returned to the states, I decided to apply for college and I applied to Penn State Harrisburg.  I sent my application in, and then I heard back a couple weeks later and it said that I have an interview, with Jenny and Kelsey. When I got accepted I was so excited to be a Nittany lion and I had a wonderful first semester and I loved orientation. I got to go to college again with my friends Demi and  Sarah again who I also went to Millersville with. I loved my classes I took there and all the activities and clubs they had there.

I made a lot of friends while I attended there, The first friend I made at Penn State was Nicole Courtney, we hit it off good with each other and had different outings with each other. She is very kind, and funny, and Jovial. She loves people and dogs. She makes me smile and she's very easy to be friends with, I am glad to have Nicole as a friend.

My next friend I made at Penn State, her name Is Clara. She is very bright and outgoing and fun. She loves to sing and dance, We have hung out with each other since I have attended Penn State Harrisburg, we go to a lot of my moms sorority events together, A lot of my moms sorority sisters like her and find her enjoyable. She makes me laugh and smile. Its very easy to like her because she is a very nice and caring person with a happy and caring heart.

Another Friend I made at Penn State is a awesome guy named Joshua Ridge. We all called him Josh, he is very sweet and happy. He made everyone smile with joy and made their day. He always made me smile and laugh, He is a wonderful friend that I will always treasure. I am so grateful and happy to know Josh and have him as a friend.

I really enjoy Penn State and being a Nittany Lion because I feel like I can be myself there and express my personality and it feels like a second family to me. The Career Studies feels like a second family because everyone is always together and we are always talking with one another, and making each other feel good and lifted up. I love being a Nittany lion, and I am happy to be attending Penn State Harrisburg and be part of the career studies Program.

My Story of Strength

Hello everyone, I would like to share my diabetes story. It all started August 26th, I had just gotten back to school to start my final semester after summer break was over. And I had just gotten a new job while I was at school, I had become coach of the volleyball team. That was really fun, and I had just moved into my own apartment and I had roommates.

Before school started me and my mom were really busy we were going between my house and the apartment building because we had get to my stuff moved in to my room at the apartment and it was really hot during the summer,  I was thirsty a lot of the time that we were moving stuff back and forth.

After a couple days that I had been in school I had started noticing that I was getting more thirsty and going to the bathroom more often than usual. I thought maybe it was just a coincidence because I had been thirsty a lot more recently than I usually am.  I contributed increased thirst to the very hot weather and my increase in activity...long walks from apartment to campus, several times a day and then evenings working with the school volleyball team.  I was really enjoying school and my new schedule.

It was keeping me really busy and energized. I was enjoying being with the volleyball team and helping them out. I was able to go to a couple of volleyball games and support them and cheer them on. My friend Clara came and helped me out a few times with the volleyball team too, we got to go to a couple of their volleyball games together. My Class schedule was busy too, I had at a full course schedule of 4 classes. I started noticing after a couple of days that I started looking tired and not my usual happy and outgoing self. I also had been wanting a lot more sugary foods and drinks, like whenever I would have one sugary drink, I would want another sweet drink, because I felt like I needed something more to fulfill my thirst.

I just kept going with my normal school schedule, and hanged out with my friends.  I remember that day at school the last thing that I had eaten before we went on break for Labor Day I had gotten a piece of pizza. It was good I was really hungry that day. When I was at school, I asked my mentors is it normal to go to the bathroom a lot? ˇThey told me yes if you are having a lot of things to drink. One afternoon after Lunch I was feeling really thirsty, and a little tired, it was before volleyball practice. I decided to get some water from my school cafe and I drank the whole bottle of water. After school, my mentor dropped me off at my apartment and she said that I looked tired, she said why don't you rest a little before you come to volleyball practice. I went in the apartment and rested some before volleyball practice and I became thirsty again, I wanted a sweet drink so I got some soda I thought that I would be able to save some of it for later, I was so thirsty that I drank all of it before I got back to my apartment.

I had bought a doughnut earlier that day because I wanted something sweet to eat for later. A couple hours later It was time for me to go to volleyball practice.  I went to volleyball practice with my friend clara, we made it to volleyball practice and she helped me with what I needed to do to help with the team.

So while we were there, we both thought to ourselves that we hadn't eaten dinner yet. We asked our mentor if we could go to chic-fil-a.  So after volleyball practice was over, we went with our friends to chic-fil-a it was really fun we sang along to the music that was playing in the car on the way there. So we had gotten our food and  went back to the apartment.

I asked clara if she has ever seen the volleyball movie. She said no, so we decided to watch the movie while we ate our dinner. I am usually able to eat all my dinner from chic-fil-a but for some reason I wasn't able to finish all of it so I thought to myself I will save this for lunch tomorrow. It had started getting late in the evening so we decided that we would finish the movie later.

I decided to go to bed to be ready for the school day tomorrow, I thought that I would be able to sleep that night since I haven't been able to get rest the other nights because I had to use the bathroom quite frequently almost every day. I would lay in bed and try to hold it because I wanted to get some sleep and rest because I was very tired. So this night was different then the nights I had before,I had gotten really thirsty later in the night and I wanted something to drink. All of my sweet drinks were gone because I had finished all of them because of how much I wanted sugar.

I didn't have any more ginger ale cause I had all of my Canada Dry. So I decided to text my mom, it was about 1:00 in the morning, and I told her I was thirsty, she said why don't you have some orange Juice? I said ok I had some orange juice, I was still thirsty so she said have some water. I got some water and after a couple of minutes I started feeling nauseous and I ended up getting sick. I texted my mom and told her what happened, I said I got sick and it got all over my comforter. I told her it was only a little. And then I told her I think I need to come home because I knew in my spirit something was wrong. She told me ok, I will come to the apartment and pick you up and bring you home. So I got out of bed and went into the main room of the apartment to wait for my mom to pick me up to take me home. I had my dog Elijah living with me in the apartment too; he is my emotional support animal. I took him out of my room and brought him with me in the main room because I didn't want to keep in my room with everything that was going on with me at the moment.

My mom made it to the apartment, and she brought me my favorite Ginger ale from the house. She went to my room and saw where I got sick, and said Emerald this isn't a little. I had said it was a little because I didn't want to scare her. She came back to where I was and said Emerald before you leave why don't you get yourself cleaned up while I clean up the room, so I decided to get myself cleaned up before we left the apartment.  We waited until about 5 in the morning while my mom sanitized the apartment and to wait until a more logical hour to inform my roommate  I was leaving the apartment. So I knocked on the door, and told her I was leaving and that I wasn't feeling very well. So after that we left the apartment and went home. I went up to my room to lay down, I didn't have a lot of energy. My mom had to go to work, she told my dad to stay home because she wanted someone to be with me because I wasn't feeling well.

On my moms way to work, she called the doctor, told her all of my symptoms, and scheduled an appointment. My mom was so happy she was able to reach the doctor. She texted me and my dad what time the appointment was.

I was a little hungry, I came downstairs to have some watermelon and I could not taste the sweetness in it. I think my taste buds were getting dull. After my watermelon, I had wanted to rest a little more my body wouldn't let me rest. I think because I had angels watching over me and they knew what has happening with me. It had become close to the time for my appointment, It took all of my energy to go downstairs and tell my dad its time for my doctor appointment.

He said ok, lets go, so we made it to the doctors office, we went inside the room and the doctor asked me how I was feeling and what kind of different symptoms I was having, she then decided to check my blood sugar and she said the number is so high that isn't showing on her screen. She told my dad he needed to take me to the emergency room.

My dad took me to the hershey hospital, I was feeling tired he knew to keep me awake and alert. If he had not done that I could have gone into coma. We made it to the emergency room, and we went into the room and they had checked my levels again and they said my blood sugar was 1500. They admitted me, and did everything they knew to do to bring my numbers to normal.

There were a lot of people coming in and out and they asked me different questions. Each person that came in asked me the same questions because they wanted to see if I was alert and if my brain was alert and if I knew what was going on. They told me that I had diabetes they weren't at first sure which one I had. But eventually they said that I have type 1 diabetes. I had a lot of teaching while I was there too, they taught me and my mom what to do and how to Treat my diabetes on a daily basis. I was grateful for that.

I spent 14 days in the hospital with doctors and nurses. My doctors and nurses were so kind, they would give me my medicine and help make me feel better. I learned a lot about diabetes while I was there. A lot of my family texted me and encouraged me. My Big brother/Cousin Devin checked on me a lot while I was there that made me smile!  I got a lot of love and prayers from my family and friends. I love my family so much with all my heart and am so grateful for loving and caring friends. My friend Nicole came and visited me to offer support and encouragement! And she also brought a service animal to lift my spirits. And Clara came and her mom and her grandma came to visit me too! They are amazing friends!

My friends gave me much encouragement and support! I had a lot of people visit me while I was there, I was so happy to have visitors, that really brightened my day. I received a get well card from my school that made me smile. My two closet friends visited me too, and that made me very happy. I got to see Elijah while I was in the hospital too, My heart was so happy and blessed to see him. And my Grandma and Uncle came up to see me too while I was in the hospital that was a wonderful time.

Diabetes is hard, I still don't like it, because I miss eating the food and desserts that I want. I want to keep myself healthy and still be here for my friends and family.  I am believing and praying my pancreas will work again soon, so I don't have to keep giving myself  insulin shots. I don't want to do that for the rest of my life. I have my family and friends here to support me and encourage me through all of it and I am grateful and blessed for that. I am very happy to be alive and still celebrating my life. God blessed me with an amazing 23 years of life, I cant wait to see what else he has in store for me. If I have to be on this journey for now I am glad I am not alone and still able to tell and share my story.
